Associate Manager, Merchant Strategy & Operations
DoorDash
About the Team
DoorDash's mission is to grow and empower local economies. By building intelligent, last-mile delivery technology for local cities, DoorDash connects people with the local businesses they care about – helping grow business and the communities that support those businesses.
About the Role
We’re looking for a high level operator with strong cross-functional skills and bias for action to lead DoorDash Canada’s Merchant operations function, driving best-in-class quality and merchant functionality across the country.
This role will be the connective tissue between the Canadian team and Core team and ensure our products, features, and processes are on the cutting edge, giving Merchants the best experience possible. You will ensure all merchants have strong operational fundamentals, diagnose specific Canadian merchant problems, and roll out products and features to Canada.
This role requires a highly detailed and organized operator who is used to working cross-functionally with other teams, and is able to build strong relationships and influence others to get the job done. In the absence of support, you will find a way to do it yourself through AI. You thrive at the intersection of data, relationships and execution.
We’re seeking someone who’s data-driven, a hands-on operator, relationship-oriented, and eager to make a tangible impact in one of DoorDash’s fastest-growing regions.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own Canada’s Merchant Fundamentals: Build and execute a roadmap to ensure merchant operational metrics are strong across the board.
- Drive Product and Feature Adoption: Be at the forefront of new products and features launched globally and ensure their success in the Canadian market.
- Be a Champion for our Merchants: Deeply understand merchant pain points and drive business cases for product and feature support to drive retention, operations and growth.
- Drive Growth through Operations: Understand how your work ladders up to growth and what the contributions of operational and product improvements are to the marketplace.
- Leads Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the connective tissue between the US and Canadian Merchant S&O teams, surfacing local insights and influencing the product and process roadmaps
- Be an Owner: Take full ownership of the success of our merchant portfolio
We’re excited about you because…
- Are a builder and connector: You see opportunities where others see roadblocks. You’re energized by building systems from the ground up and forming lasting relationships along the way
- Have a business development mindset: You understand how to identify, scope, and close high-impact opportunities, and you know how to align internal stakeholders to get things done
- Thrive in ambiguity and autonomy: You’re comfortable setting your own direction, testing and learning as you go, and staying laser-focused on outcomes.
- Are operationally sharp and analytically driven: You turn insights into action and know how to measure and report on impact in a fast-moving environment.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in business development, consulting, strategy, startups, or operations
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with commercial teams, marketing, and product
- Proven ability to identify growth opportunities and lead strategic initiatives from conception to execution
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across various stakeholders and levels of the organization
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and SQL; comfortable making decisions grounded in data
