About the Team

We're looking for someone to help scale DoorDash's next billion dollar business, DashMart, by growing our in-house food program, DashMart Kitchens. The DashMart Kitchens team is focused on building a new type of restaurant platform within DashMart, offering a broad selection of prepared foods and well-known restaurant staples to our customers' doorsteps.

About the Role

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Development Sous Chef to join our DashMart Kitchens (DMK) Culinary team in Redwood City. This is a great opportunity for a kitchen professional ready to take the next step into a research and development-focused role. You’ll oversee daily operations of our test kitchen—managing cleanliness, organization, ordering, and inventory—while also serving as the culinary lead for our third-party brand partners. A key part of your work will be running DashMart Kitchens University, delivering on-site training to site managers preparing to launch new DMK locations and concepts. You’ll collaborate closely with our Selection Strategy & Operations lead to better understand brand performance and help identify new opportunities for innovation. In this role, you’ll manage a Development Commis and report directly to the Lead R&D Chef. If you’re passionate about food, love working with people, and want to help shape the future of virtual kitchens, we’d love to hear from you.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you...

  • Are cuisine-curious and love to cook across multiple culinary concepts
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Are passionate about solving complex problems within delivery-only kitchen environments.
  • Are excited about continuous learning and improvement.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 1-2 years or more experience working in a fast-casual, QSR, or full-service kitchen
  • You have at least 1 year of experience supervising a team, including scheduling
  • You have a ServeSafe Managers License and have meticulous cleanliness standards

  • We are customer-obsessed - Our mission is to grow and empower local economies. We are committed to our customers, merchants, and dashers and believe in connecting people with possibility.
  • We are all DoorDash - The magic of DoorDash is our people, together making our inspiring goals attainable and driving us to greater heights.
  • We offer great compensation packages and comprehensive health benefits.
