About the Role
You will lead the Service Operations team for the East Bay market at DoorDash Labs. You will lead a team of experienced and new technicians to maximize uptime, roll out hardware upgrades, and collaboratively support our overall fleet utilization goals. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Technical Operations in our DoorDash Labs organization. This is an in-office role in the East Bay, with the primary location of Dublin, CA, though it may require sporadic travel to Oakland or SF locations for coordination with Service Engineering.

- Foster a safety-first approach to all things Service
- Lead a team of new and experienced service technicians to maximize uptime of our robot assets
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for developing technical talent
- Track KPIs and explain variances
- Work with Maintenance Planning to balance hardware upgrades, planned, and reactive maintenance
- Ensure adherence to Service SOPs, including Work Order and Parts flow and management at local level
- Track technician productivity to ensure we are good stewards maximizing our limited resources
- Work with Service Engineering on identified tooling/jig needs with field deployments of new platforms
- Maintain accountability and uptime of all tools and equipment to support Service Operations
You may need to flex to nights or weekends to oversee and spot check the team and support the operation.
We’re excited about you because you have…
- 6+ years of work experience
- Experience leading service technicians and teams
- Prior experience in robotics, electric or autonomous vehicles or aircraft
- Experience with work order management and Key Performance Indicators including standard/flat rate times, mean time between failure (MBTF) and mean time to repair (MTTR)
- Experience with JIRA, MaintainX and other service tools and systems
- Believe in 1% improvement every day

Compensation
Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

See below for paid time off details:
- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
