Access Control Specialist
DoorDash
About the Team
The Merchant Experience team is at the core of DoorDash’s mission to empower local economies. We ensure our merchants are set up for success from day one, providing a seamless onboarding, menu, and photo experience. As DoorDash continues to grow in scale and complexity, the strength and precision of our merchant operations must grow with it. Within this broader team, the Access Control group plays a vital role in enabling efficient, secure, and compliant onboarding and provisioning for our external partners.
About the Role
As an Access Control Specialist on the Merchant Experience team, you’ll play a critical role in managing access provisioning for our external vendor partners. You will own the daily processes related to tracking, submitting, and resolving access requests, ensuring each vendor receives the appropriate permissions aligned with their specific roles. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT and Vendor Operations, to uphold security and compliance standards while enabling efficient onboarding and offboarding.
You will serve as the first point of contact for access-related requests across multiple channels (e.g., Slack, Jira, Salesforce), escalating issues when necessary and delivering a smooth, timely provisioning experience. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
You will report to the Senior Project Supervisor of Access Control within the Merchant Experience organization. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in our Tempe, Arizona office one day per week (subject to change).
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own and manage access request workflows across multiple intake channels, including Slack, Jira, Salesforce, and others.
- Submit and track tickets with BizApps, IT, Engineering, and other internal provisioning teams using a variety of enterprise platforms.
- Ensure access requests align with established role-based guidelines for each vendor team.
- Maintain accurate documentation of vendor team access requirements to streamline future provisioning and reduce risk.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders to provide status updates and clarify ticket requirements.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential delays, misaligned access requests, or security risks.
- Keep all relevant ticketing systems updated with current statuses, notes, and outcomes.
- Support ad-hoc operational needs to assist the broader Access Control and Vendor Operations teams.
We’re excited about you because you…
- Bring 1+ years of experience in access management, IT support, or administrative coordination.
- Are familiar with systems like Okta, Workday, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Jira, and can quickly learn new tools.
- Preferably have experience working in backend or enterprise platforms to support provisioning workflows and troubleshoot access-related issues.
- Have partnered cross-functionally with Security, IT, and Risk & Compliance teams to support provisioning policies and uphold internal controls.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and shifting priorities in a structured, efficient manner.
- Communicate effectively across teams—including vendors and internal stakeholders—with clarity and professionalism.
- Have a sharp eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and ticket submissions.
- Take ownership of your work and approach challenges with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Understand the importance of security, compliance, and governance in access provisioning—and can confidently enforce standards.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where flexibility and responsiveness are key to success.
