Through our advocacy on cutting-edge public policy issues and the programs that we develop, we are shaping the future of local economies. This unique team combines direct engagement with policymakers at all levels of government, advocacy campaigns, policy research and analysis, and programs to promote economic vitality, safety, and sustainability.
About the Role
DoorDash is hiring an experienced political advertising, marketing, and social media professional to lead our Policy Marketing function. Reporting to the Head of North America Public Policy, you will be responsible for all aspects of policy paid media, our creative studio, social media strategy, policy reputation, and campaign analytics.

- Have the opportunity to lead a cutting-edge in-house policy marketing function, with the opportunity to develop, test, and scale new strategies across owned and paid media.
- Design and execute next generation policy marketing campaigns that drive positive outcomes on issues ranging from the future of work, to support for small business, to affordability and food access.
- Manage a dynamic team of policy paid media professionals and contract firms that are responsible for executing seven figure campaigns, from campaign design and content creation, to ad buying, to campaign evaluation.
- Partner closely with teammates across the Policy, Communications, and Marketing teams to harness their collective resources and expertise toward shared objectives.
- Manage and approve budget activity for the Policy Marketing team and ensure that other resources for priority issues and opportunities are provided.
- Develop a deep understanding of business priorities and legislative trends to inform our reactive and proactive work around the country.

- Demonstrated the ability to shape public opinion on politics and public policy at the highest levels. We are looking for at least 10 years experience in fast-paced corporate public policy environments and/or successful national political campaigns.
- A hunger to stay at the cutting edge, try new things, iterate, learn, and constantly improve.
- A sharp analytical mind and an obsession with measuring the things that matter. You are a master of targeting, testing, and analytics. You will have mastered real time reporting and trend analysis strategies.
- A strong point of view on and experience developing creative content across different mediums, from TV to social media. A devoted following from the people you have led, including in-house teams and external consultants. We believe strongly in supporting and growing our talent at DoorDash and are looking for a leader who is passionate about supporting their team’s growth and development.
- A successful track record of designing and running non-traditional policy marketing efforts that leverage new media platforms that meet our audiences where they are.
- An operational mindset that enables you to seamlessly manage internal and external processes and stakeholders.
- Successful experience engaging policy stakeholders through organic and paid social media strategies.

- Experience in the tech industry, particularly the on-demand economy.
- Knowledge of the policy issues including the future of work and support for restaurants and other small businesses.

Compensation
The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
