The Consumer team designs the mobile apps and website that millions of customers use every day to order meals and more from their favorite local merchants.

Within the Consumer team, the New Modes group envisions different ways to enjoy the convenience of DoorDash in terms of expanding the use cases, such as group ordering, DoubleDash, gifting and ordering DoorDash at work. You’ll also be responsible for leading our consumer money experiences covering the DoorDash Rewards Card and Gift Cards experience. This team is defining and driving the intersection of the physical and digital experiences. If you are passionate about building new use cases and driving a 0>1 team, this role is for you!

About the Role

  • Product Leadership – You'll work with your peers in Product Management, Engineering, Operations, User Research, and more to define a shared vision and roadmap for the Shopping Experience domain.
  • Team Mentorship – You'll coach the designers on your team, providing both project feedback and career guidance, and create opportunities for your team members to thrive.
  • Hiring – DoorDash is growing rapidly. You'll partner with our recruiting team to find, attract, interview, and hire new designers for your team.

You will report to the Head of Consumer Product Design in our Product Design organization. This role is a hybrid role with some time in-office and some time remote. We are looking for someone located in or near one of our tech hubs (SF Bay Area, Seattle, or New York).

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Contribute directly to DoorDash's consumer product strategy and define the future of our service.

  • Recruit and mentor an outstanding team of designers and help them grow.
  • Influence the team's approach to product development, shaping both the organization and our processes.
  • Improve the lives of millions of DoorDash customers every day.

We're excited about you because…

  • You have 10+ years of Design experience and 4+ years of experience managing successful product design teams.
  • You're an advocate for product quality and user-centric product development.
  • You engage your teammates and proactively initiate new programs.
  • You're comfortable working within complex product ecosystems.
  • You're enthusiastic about collaboration and team-building.
