About the Team

The Outside Sales team has been the face of DoorDash to our merchant partners since our founding in 2013. Stationed locally, this team creates deep partnerships with the most coveted local and regional restaurants in any given geography. Our Outside Sales team is the revenue driving arm of DoorDash and ensures the growth of our SMB partnerships which help strengthen operations, accelerate consumer growth, and improve our bottom line.

About the Role

We are looking for a Growth Merchant Lead (GML) for Emerging Markets to join our Outside Sales team. As a Growth Merchant Lead (GML) for Emerging Markets, you are responsible for winning new business across the US and contributing to the overall growth strategy of DoorDash. You will travel to emerging markets and manage a largely transactional deal cycle to drive new partnerships with the best local and regional restaurants.

You’ll report into the Regional Sales Manager on our Outside Sales team where you’ll have direct access to all you’ll need to grow your career to the next level. This is a hybrid role with frequent travel to our emerging markets across the US. At least 50% travel is required for this role, which includes travel by car or air and will include overnight stays and multi-day travel. Travel will be monitored to ensure the position meets the requirements of a salaried role.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Travel and expand the DoorDash footprint in “emerging markets” – untapped markets across the country primarily in rural areas.
  • Sell restaurant owners on the value of partnering with DoorDash and negotiate revenue share agreements.
  • Excel in a fast-paced, transactional deal cycle and close new business within days.

We're excited about you because…

  • You have 2.5+ years of experience, in a closing sales role or related experience.
  • You have the ability to travel, as you will travel to destination markets (at least 50% of the time) to meet with restaurant owners.
  • You are efficient and strategic with inside and outside sales tactics to reach goals.
  • You have experience using a CRM (Salesforce) and Google Apps.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy building strategies and playbooks for scalable success.
