About the Team

It’s an exciting time to join our rapidly growing Tax team and be a part of the fast growth the Company is experiencing, particularly with new product initiatives! The Tax team is heavily involved in the operations of the business that impact Dashers, Merchants and Customers. As a key partner to the business, we are involved at the front end on plans for new products and country expansions as well as the sales and onboarding process with new Merchants. As DoorDash continues to expand its business lines, product offerings, and global footprint, partnering with the business teams to bring tax awareness for such initiatives continues to grow in importance.

About the Role

The role will be part of the Tax Advisory and Planning function, supporting various new product initiatives as well as other tax planning projects (income tax and indirect tax). This role will also have ownership of projects that make an immediate impact.

A successful candidate will be able to build successful relationships within Tax and across the broader company, simultaneously manage multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives, recommend and support the implementation of product solutions that satisfy DoorDash’s tax obligations, provide tax advice on tax and non-tax initiatives, and implement automated and scalable processes to support the rapid expansion of both DoorDash and the Tax team.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Actively partner with a variety of DoorDash teams, including product, engineering, legal, accounting, and finance on new products, initiatives, and expansions of existing products.
  • Project manage new product, expansion, process improvement, and operational projects for the Tax team, including the creating project plans, setting project timelines, and tracking deliverables and action items.
  • Operate at the lowest level of detail, diving into all things that directly or indirectly impact tax for DoorDash’s products and initiatives in order to ensure compliance while also helping unlock and grow the business.
  • Communicate with stakeholders at all levels on project plans, status, and important issues.
  • Design scalable playbooks that document the team’s tax policies and procedures.
  • Provide tax advice within the Tax team on strategic tax planning initiatives, legislative developments, and other ad hoc matters.
  • Manage external advisors as necessary.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You have 6+ years of experience in finance (including tax / accounting), project management, consulting, or related experience
    • High-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus.
    • Experience managing large consulting, advisory, or other project engagements preferred.
  • You have a proven track record of managing cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies in a fast-moving environment.
  • You have demonstrated success in your ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner.
  • You roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to drive results, even if it's outside your normal areas of focus.
  • You have a strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and can motivate people at all levels across a variety of job responsibilities.
  • You approach your role with a strong moral compass and integrity.

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

$139,200$208,800 USD
Washington Pay Range:
$132,200$198,400 USD
