About the Team

The Outside Sales team has been the face of DoorDash to our merchant partners since our founding in 2013. Stationed locally, this team creates deep partnerships with the most coveted local and regional restaurants in any given geography. Our Outside Sales team is the revenue driving arm of DoorDash and ensures the growth of our SMB partnerships which help strengthen operations, accelerate consumer growth, and improve our bottom line.

About the Role

We are looking for a Team Lead to join our Strategic Outside sales team. You’ll join a team of strategic sellers who are responsible for the acquisition of top selection across the region. As a leader within our team, you’ll play a key role in coaching and training our team to grow selection with a merchant first mentality, while leveraging local knowledge to build partnerships with local businesses across the region. A Team Lead is the ultimate player-coach opportunity - responsible for ensuring we maximize the efforts of our Strategic team, while also carrying an individual quota and closing partnerships.

You will report into the Strategic Sales Manager for the region where you'll have direct access to all you'll need to grow your career to the next level. This is a hybrid role with some time in the market/field (1-2 days per week) shadowing sellers and meeting with prospective partners, and some time working from home or office.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Coach and train the strategic team on effective sales techniques and methods for increasing revenue
  • Facilitate and lead trainings on key initiatives that promote new products
  • Travel in field (3-4) times per month with the team to coach, support, and win initiatives
  • Support the team as the primary point of contact for region tasks (i.e. quote approvals, deal desk submissions, etc)
  • Meet with partners to identify their needs, recommend products/services, and close them onto DoorDash platforms
  • Lead by example while guiding team efforts (i.e. field days, pitch practice, hitting team targets, etc)

  • You have 2+ years of recent outside sales experience exceed goals
  • You have 1+ years of experience of sales management experience
  • You have found creative ways to build partnerships with difficult prospects
  • You are passionate about driving results while influencing the direction of the team
  • You pride yourself on your excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You can navigate sales and internal tools quickly (Salesforce, Google Apps)

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role also includes opportunities for equity grants and sales commission.

New York Pay Range:
$107,100$144,900 USD
