About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Policy and Government Relations to help build our policy and government relations efforts in Canada. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing our government relations strategy, executing an ambitious agenda, and making an immediate impact on our fast-growing, dynamic business. In addition to having a passion for policy and a thorough understanding of the political and regulatory environment in Canada, candidates must possess excellent communication skills. Demonstrated experience working at the nexus of business and politics, well-established relationships with political bodies and decision-makers, and the determination to represent the company in trade associations and relevant fora are also essential qualifications.

  • Serve as a policy professional who will assist in achieving our public policy agenda in Canada including our crafting and executing our government relations, public engagement and social impact strategies
  • Work closely with business partners across the Canadian business
  • Build relationships with political stakeholders including policymakers and administrative authorities at the federal and provincial level, as well as with relevant municipalities
  • Coordinate with trade groups and industry associations
  • Work with other members of the policy team to mobilize all participants in our three-sided marketplace in support of DoorDash’s political strategy
  • Collaborate with policy development to craft policy solutions that serve business needs while serving our community and meeting political realities

  • You have a deep understanding of government relations, including in implementing regulatory and public policy positions and strategies, grassroots organizing, and the mechanics of policymaking
  • You have a proven ability to achieve ambitious policy outcomes
  • You have [6+ years] working experience in the field of public policy or government relations
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Affairs, Government, Public Affairs, related field, or equivalent practical experience

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role also includes opportunities for equity grants.

British Columbia Pay Range:
$132,000$198,000 CAD
