About the Team

DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We are working on building autonomous delivery robots from the ground-up as part of DoorDash's core delivery platform. If you have a passion for applying robotics solutions in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!

About the Role

You will report to Guillaume Dupre on our PSM team in our Labs organization. You will be an early team member on a growing team, which will allow for a bigger scope than if you were to join many other teams at DoorDash. This is a remote first team. Our offices are open to all employees but going in is voluntary.

The mission of the data platform team is to provide a unified, cohesive suite of features that includes systems like Airflow/Dagster/Jenkins, Data warehouses like Redshift/Snowflake, and cloud infra [think AWS Batch/EMR] to run these jobs at scale. Effectively provide a way for engineers to create new jobs with configurations and automate the process to test such changes. This a new team with currently one engineer working with a set of autonomous and Machine Learning engineers. Stakeholders for this team are multiple teams like Planning, Simulation, Perception, Operations, and the scope is huge to make a meaningful and considerable impact.

We’re excited about you because…

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience with CS fundamental concepts
  • Extensive experience writing product level C++ code
  • Experience working with MPP databases such as Snowflake, Hive, Redshift
  • Experience in big data technologies like Trino, Spark, Hadoop, Airflow, Kafka
  • A passion for analyzing data to inform decisions
  • Experience improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location. Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.
