About Distyl AI

Distyl is an applied AI technology company partnering with the world’s most ambitious institutions to rearchitect critical operations for the frontier of AI. Our customers include the largest companies in telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, consumer goods, and global social organizations.

We research and deploy technologies that power AI-native operations — both for our partners and for Distyl itself. Our work spans research into self-constructing systems, the development of the most reliable execution of AI systems, and products that transform mission-critical workflows. As a result, Distyl's technologies affect some of the world's largest operations — from hundreds of millions of consumer interactions to tens of millions of supply chain transactions and millions of patient journeys.

Distyl is backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Coatue, DST Global, and the board-members of 20+ F500s. The results reflect this approach: a 100% production deployment success rate for our customers and one of the few enterprise AI companies to run a profitable business.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for Frontend Product Engineers to build these ai applications. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and AI systems. You will work closely with customer domain experts, AI strategists, AI Researchers, and the Platform Engineering Team to design and ship interfaces that allow humans to guide, evaluate, and improve AI systems in production environments. Many of these applications begin as forward-deployed tools for specific customers. The best ideas and patterns are then incorporated back into the Distyl platform.

If you enjoy building products quickly, working directly with users, and experimenting with new AI-native ways of developing software, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and ship interfaces where operators interact with AI systems to perform real operational work. These applications may include: knowledge capture tools, evaluation and feedback workflows, AI configuration and control interfaces, workflow orchestration tools, and custom applications for enterprise use cases

  • Collaborate closely with AI Strategists and customer domain experts to understand real workflows

  • Translate those workflows into working product experiences that allow operators to interact with and guide AI systems

  • Move quickly from idea → prototype → production

  • Use real user interactions and system behavior to refine both the product experience and the AI systems it supports

  • Integrate applications with LLMs, evaluation pipelines, and internal AI infrastructure

  • Understand how interface design affects: system behavior, feedback quality, user trust, system improvement loops

Who You Are

  • Early-career builders (0–3 years of software engineering experience)

  • Comfortable building modern web applications using tools such as TypeScript, React, modern component libraries, API-driven architectures

  • Sharp eye for detail and a natural sense for what makes a product sing

  • Care about how a workflow feels effortless, how an interface guides people naturally, how the right design choice can elevate an entire experience

  • No design background required — just a real passion for products done well and the confidence to push for that standard

  • Actively use AI tools in your daily workflow for writing and debugging code, generating prototypes, exploring designs, and accelerating iteration

  • Excited about experimenting with new ways of building software with AI

  • Comfortable starting with an unclear problem and working with users to figure out what should be built

  • Enjoy working with real users and understanding operational problems

What We Offer

  • The base salary range for this role is $130K – $250K, depending on experience, location, and level. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for meaningful equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package

  • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision for employees and dependents

  • 401(k) with additional perks (e.g., commuter benefits, in‑office lunch)

  • Access to state‑of‑the‑art models, generous usage of modern AI tools, and real‑world business problems

  • Ownership of high‑impact projects across top enterprises

  • A mission‑driven, fast‑moving culture that prizes curiosity, pragmatism, and excellence

Distyl has offices in San Francisco and New York. This role follows a hybrid collaboration model with 3+ days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) in‑office.
