Role Overview
The Deal Desk function serves as the strategic bridge between Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product teams. The role is responsible for enabling high-quality, compliant, and profitable deals through pricing analysis, quote to-cash process governance, and contract support. The person will partner with global GTM and Finance stakeholders to ensure deals are structured efficiently, aligned with company policies, and accurately reflected in the financial systems (NetSuite, DevRev CRM, and related tools).
Key Responsibilities
Deal Structuring & Review
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams to structure deals that balance customer needs with company profitability and compliance.
- Review commercial terms, pricing models, and discounts to ensure alignment with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and margin targets.
- Maintain standardized approval workflows and ensure timely turnaround on deal requests.
- Own the validation and submission of quotes, order forms, and supporting documentation in Computer by DevRev.
- Liaise with Legal for non-standard contract terms and ensure business approval on deviations.
- Coordinate with Billing and Revenue teams for smooth contract activation and invoicing.
Policy & Governance
- Maintain and enforce global Deal Desk and Pricing policies for India and global entities.
- Partner with Finance to ensure audit readiness and SOX/ICFR compliance for deal- related documentation.
- Recommend process improvements and automation within the quote-to-cash lifecycle.
Analytics & Reporting
- Develop dashboards and insights around deal velocity, discount trends, and deal profitability.
- Support leadership with quarterly revenue forecasts and bookings analysis.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to track ARR, RPO, and other SaaS metrics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Legal, FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps to align business,compliance, and financial objectives.
- Support new product launches and pricing changes through structured commercial frameworks.
