Role Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting and Payroll Analyst to own our payroll process and support our Medicare commissions process. This role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining strong compliance and financial integrity. The ideal candidate is hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys improving processes that keep the company running smoothly.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the full-cycle payroll process for all employees (salaried, hourly, and variable compensation).
  • Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and manage adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to the general ledger.
  • Download, prepare, and organize commission statements from multiple Medicare carriers.
  • Upload, validate, and reconcile commission data in our management system (AgencyBloc) ensuring accuracy across all entries.
  • Conduct regular audits of carrier payments, agent records, and policy data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Track and follow up with carriers on missed or inaccurate payments.
  • Generate commission reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support process documentation and identify opportunities for workflow improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payouts.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in payroll, finance, or accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems (Paylocity a plus).
  • Working knowledge of payroll tax, labor compliance, and accounting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliation tools).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience managing large data sets and multi-step workflows.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
