Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.
CFS collaborates with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with groundbreaking new high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. Our mission is to deploy these power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as fast as possible. To that end, CFS has assembled a team of leaders in tough tech, fusion science, and manufacturing with a track record of rapid execution. To implement this plan, we are looking to add dedicated people to the team who treat people well, improve our work by adding multifaceted perspectives and new ways of solving problems, have achieved outstanding results through a range of pursuits, and have skills and experience related to this role.
CFS is looking for a Senior Project Manager, Talent Development to spearhead the design and implementation of innovative talent development initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and fostering continuous improvement throughout the organization.

This team member will:

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of comprehensive talent development programs aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current talent needs and future requirements, identifying gaps and proposing effective solutions
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for talent initiatives, from planning and budgeting to execution and evaluation
  • Utilize data-driven insights to measure program effectiveness and make data-informed adjustments to enhance outcomes
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent development to continuously innovate and improve existing programs

The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience building programs or complex, scalable processes involving many diverse stakeholders
  • Superb communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working with manufacturing production teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively about both short and long term solutions
  • History of improving performance of teams

Additional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
  • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
  • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally
