You will be collaborating closely with mechanical engineers, industrial designers, systems engineers and our forward-looking customer teams to help define and refine our approach to integrating safety into our robot hardware. This position is located at our Santa Clara, CA headquarters, or remotely within the US.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience with hazard analysis, functional/requirements decomposition, managing safety requirements and requirements traceability.
  • Experience implementing designs with IEC 61508 or equivalent functional safety standard.
  • Experience applying safety standards, such as NFPA79, UL1564, IEC61000, IEC13849, IEC60204, IEC62061, etc.
  • Experience with FMEDA, DFMEA, or other risk assessment methodologies.
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
  • Willing to occasionally travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with hazard analysis, functional/requirements decomposition, managing safety requirements and requirements traceability.
  • Experience with taking robotics hardware from concept to certification.
  • Experience with specific requirements for NRTL testing and approval.

The base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in Santa Clara, CA. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
