Collaborative Robotics is seeking a highly motivated Robot Operations Manager onsite in Sumner, WA. As the leader of the team that monitors and maintains robot performance/safety, you will play a pivotal role in deploying and operating a new fleet of collaborative robots (cobots). You will ensure seamless communication between our customers and our engineering team, build and support a team of Robot Operations Specialists, and enhance the overall efficiency and safety of our operations.

This is a fully onsite position in Sumner, WA and may require occasional travel to other customer sites.

Responsibilities

Customer Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers on the production floor.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide timely updates on project progress.

Team Management:

  • Staff, train, and manage a team of Robot Operations Specialists, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage staffing gaps, schedule rotations, and allocate resources efficiently to meet operational demands.

Engineering Team Collaboration:

  • Facilitate communication between the customer floor and the engineering team, conveying customer feedback, issues, and enhancement requests.

Performance Management:

  • Audit the performance of Robot Operations Specialists regularly, ensuring that KPIs and quality metrics are met consistently.
  • Manage safety incident responses, conduct thorough investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.

Process Improvement:

  • Recommend system enhancements based on observations and experience
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and enhance overall efficiency.

Site Operations:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess the effectiveness of robot operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
  • Organize and conduct onsite training for Robot Operations Specialists, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed about the latest technologies and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse operations.
  • Experience staffing and managing teams of associates across multiple shifts.
  • Experience setting, managing and overseeing safety expectations in an industrial setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Ability to clearly communicate daily assignments, changes in program, and operational responsibilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and customer requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Robotics operations management experience.
  • Experience working with a new technology and/or new product introduction.
  • Knowledge of robotic systems, automation technologies, and industrial operations.
  • Experience in transportation logistics, especially in transload or cross-dock operations.

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $140,000. See below for additional total compensation package information.

Our full-time compensation package includes base salary plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the noted geographic area. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
