We're a growing firm specializing in patents and trademarks, and we're seeking a skilled Contract Trademark Paralegal to join our team. What You'll Do:
As our Contract Trademark Paralegal, you'll play a crucial role in managing our trademark portfolio and supporting our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Client Engagement & Outreach:
- Sending introductory emails to potential clients inquiring about trademark services.
- Responding to potential client inquiries as needed.
- Tracking potential clients who opted not to file and re-engaging them when appropriate.
- New Client Onboarding:
- Creating new client records in our firm portal.
- Generating trust invoices for trademark application filings.
- Sending welcome emails to new clients with attached trust invoices and notifying them of forthcoming engagement letter e-signature requests.
- Trademark Application Preparation:
- Populating applicant/owner and mark information.
- Selecting and drafting goods/services (with attorney recommendations).
- Uploading specimens and dates of use. (Attorneys will assist with specimen collection when necessary).
- Statement of Use Preparation:
- Uploading specimens and dates of use. (Attorneys will assist with specimen collection when necessary).
- Amending/deleting goods/services (with attorney recommendations).
- Please note: Attorneys will handle the filing of Statement of Use Extensions.
- Trademark Maintenance & Renewals:
- Preparing Section 8/15 Trademark Maintenance or Section 9 Trademark Renewals.
- Uploading specimens and dates of use. (Attorneys will assist with specimen collection when necessary).
- Amending/deleting goods/services (with attorney recommendations).
- Docket Management:
- Managing and tracking trademark docket deadlines.
- Sending timely reminders to clients regarding deadlines and invoice payments.
- Tracking and setting up WIPO deadlines.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience as a Trademark Paralegal at an Intellectual Property law firm.
- Strong understanding of trademark prosecution processes and USPTO procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with legal software and docketing systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to your work.
