The Opportunity

We’re hiring early-career Software Engineers who want to learn fast, ship real product, and build AI-native software used by millions.

From day one, you’ll work on production systems- not toy problems- alongside experienced engineers who care deeply about craft, judgment, and impact. You’ll contribute to features across our core products, learn how large-scale systems are designed and shipped, and develop a strong engineering foundation in a modern, AI-first environment.

This is a role for engineers who are curious, thoughtful, and excited to turn ideas into real outcomes.

What You’ll Do

As a Software Engineer at Superhuman, you will:

  • Ship production-grade code that impacts over 40 million daily active users across our suite of AI-powered productivity tools

  • Build and iterate on features for Grammarly, Coda, Superhuman Mail, and Go

  • Work with cutting-edge AI technologies and modern web frameworks

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver delightful user experiences

  • Develop AI-native features that leverage large language models, natural language processing, and intelligent automation

  • Learn how to build large-scale distributed systems that are highly available and reliable

  • Learn best practices around system design, testing, deployment, and scalability

  • Contribute to technical discussions and help shape the direction of your team’s projects

  • Grow rapidly through mentorship, feedback, and hands-on ownership of real projects

  • Make a meaningful impact on the lives of millions of people who rely on our products every day

What We’re Looking For

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), graduating in 2026 or 2027

  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, C++)

  • Experience building software through internships, personal projects, open source contributions, hackathons, or coursework

  • AI native and experienced in using AI coding agents like Claude code, cursor, and Codex for productivity gains

  • Solid understanding of system design, databases, and back-end architecture

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • A demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance, proactively manage tasks and priorities, analyze and execute work efficiently, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

Nice-to-haves:

  • Previous internship experience at a technology company

  • Experience with web tech (React, Node.js, TypeScript)

  • Exposure to AI/ML tools, APIs, or frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch)

  • Familiarity with modern engineering workflows (Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks)

  • Track record of shipping projects end-to-end

  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and learning new technologies quickly

Compensation and Benefits

Superhuman offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package encompassing the following and more:

  • Excellent health care (including a wide range of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and fertility benefits)

  • Disability and life insurance options

  • 401(k) and RRSP matching

  • Paid parental leave

  • 20 days of paid time off per year, 12 days of paid holidays per year, two floating holidays per year, and flexible sick time

  • Generous stipends (including those for caregiving, pet care, wellness, your home office, and more)

  • Annual professional development budget and opportunities

Superhuman takes a market-based approach to compensation, so base pay may vary by location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
