We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer who can build and maintain automated test suites across Cloaked's web, mobile, and API products. You'll work hands-on daily to expand automation coverage, improve test reliability, and integrate quality checks into the development lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who loves writing clean, maintainable test code and wants meaningful ownership in a growing automation practice.
What will you do?
- Write, maintain, and expand automated test suites covering functional, regression, integration, and API testing
- Build and improve test automation frameworks and utilities alongside other QA Engineers and the QA Manager
- Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
- Analyze test results, identify flaky tests, and improve overall test suite reliability, while still being truthful in the results
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand features and identify automation opportunities
- Contribute to automation standards, coding guidelines, and documentation
- Test across web, mobile, and API layers with an eye toward consistent coverage
- Participate in code reviews for test automation code and provide constructive feedback
- Flag gaps in test coverage and propose solutions to improve quality signal
What skills and experiences will help you?
- Solid experience in QA automation engineering, with hands-on work building and maintaining automated test suites
- Proficiency with Playwright for web test automation
- Experience with Appium for mobile test automation
- Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing
- Strong scripting/programming skills in languages commonly used in test automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into them (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI)
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals including test design, test planning, and defect management
- Ability to write clean, well-structured, and maintainable test code
What's nice to have?
- Experience testing across both web and mobile platforms
- Exposure to security, privacy, or identity products
- Familiarity with performance or load testing tools (e.g., k6, Locust, JMeter)
- Experience with visual regression testing
- Background working in a startup or high-growth environment
- Experience or familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code
- Experience testing with Device Farms, either local or remote through services like BrowserStack
