About us

Charm Therapeutics exists to fulfil the promise of AI to advance the discovery of medicines. Our team involves extraordinary scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs. We have raised one of the largest seed rounds in European start-up history.

The platform team provides leverage to the entire organization: we build infrastructure systems that support the research (ML and beyond), allowing our small team to do more for less. We collaborate closely with research engineers and ML engineers to build our systems and match their needs but also to provide advice on how to use cloud resources best. Our work provides the infrastructure foundation across the organization.

Specifically, the platform team is responsible for our cloud deployment, including massively scalable tooling that we provide to the research team. This includes novel technologies we produce to allow ML and data processing at huge scale.

About the role

This role is ideally suited to a software engineer, who loves building out things in the cloud, and applies software engineering principles to infrastructure code. As a member of our platform team, you’d play a key role in designing, creating and maintaining infrastructure that allow our ML research scientists to run training and inference on a massive scale.

If you’re a software engineer that’s interested in science and ML, you’ll be at home here. No machine learning experience is required for this role, although any interest and experience would be beneficial. Using your talent for writing and maintaining reliable systems, you will play a key role in revolutionising the creation of cutting-edge therapeutics.

Useful skills

Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), including multi-account setups and best practices
Cloud engineering – using infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation)
Containerised application/tool development using Docker
Solid development skills (Python/Typescript preferred), with an ability to structure code for testability
