About the Company

Cellino is building a precision platform that personalizes human cells for all. Stem cell-derived regenerative medicines are poised to cure some of the toughest diseases within this decade, including Parkinson’s, diabetes, and heart disease. Patient-specific cells provide the safest, most effective cures for these indications. Currently, large scale production of stem cell therapies is challenging due to extensive manual handling, high variability, and expensive manufacturing costs. Cellino’s vision is to enable healthier lives worldwide with personalized human cells.

About the Role

The Associate Engineer role supports the engineering activity at Cellino. This includes the production of prototype material, the operation and development of cell processing equipment, and support for data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate is someone who is always thinking of ways to improve how things are done and suggests ways to streamline processes.

This is a full-time, in-person engineering role. The associate engineer will be a member of the engineering group and report to the Senior Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Production of prototype assemblies for R&D activities
  • Execute quality processes associated with material preparation and inspection to support production and ongoing testing goals
  • Follow detailed SOPs and work instructions, and provide feedback to engineering leads to ensure accuracy of content
  • Enter and organize data in spreadsheets and other tracking tools
  • Manage organization and cleanliness of workspaces, instruments, and other equipment
  • Load consumables, prime equipment, and engage in other setup procedures for day-to-day automated cell culture processes
  • Operate lab automation equipment and support the development of lab automation procedures.

Requirements

  • BS in a technical or scientific field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organization skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organized and reliable, with an ability to work independently, deliver results consistently, and take ownership and responsibility for their work scope
  • Has precise fine motor skills and enjoys working with their hands
  • Demonstrate an ability to adopt new measurement and testing tools

Nice-to-Have Skills and Background

  • Experience with writing and interpreting Python code
  • Proficient with microscopes and other optical and mechanical measuring systems
  • Familiarity with lab automation equipment
