The Company

Cellino is building a precision platform that personalizes human cells for all. Stem cell-derived regenerative medicines are poised to cure some of the toughest diseases within this decade, including Parkinson’s, diabetes, and heart disease. Patient-specific cells provide the safest, most effective cures for these indications. Currently, large scale production of stem cell therapies is challenging due to extensive manual handling, high variability, and expensive manufacturing costs. Cellino’s vision is to enable healthier lives worldwide with personalized human cells.

The Role

Cellino is seeking a Bioprocess Operations Associate / Senior Associate to join our Bioprocess & Technical Operations Team who will play a significant role in the production of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to support development of our novel biomanufacturing platform. This is a lab-based role that involves routine performance of both manual and automated methods for cell culture and assays. The ideal candidate will have proficient technical expertise in iPSC generation/maintenance and basic molecular biology assays; familiarity with cGMP manufacturing operations; fluency with automated cell processing systems; and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Generation and maintenance of human iPSC cultures using established and development methods (both manual and automated)
  • Directed differentiation of human iPSC cultures using established methods
  • Execution of experiments to support bioprocess definition
  • Preparation of cell samples for in/out-sourced analyses, including extraction, isolation, and/or purification of nucleic acids
  • Performance of assays using qPCR and flow cytometry based methods
  • Thorough documentation of all tasks in electronic laboratory notebook
  • Results compilation, interpretation, and presentation
  • Clear and effective communication with team
  • To maintain iPSC cultures, occasional pre-scheduled off-hours and weekend lab work will be expected

Requirements

  • BS Degree in biological sciences with 2+ / 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated high level of competency in human iPSC or stem cell culture
  • Experience with the analytical techniques outlined above
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with high attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a cohesive team
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment

Preferred Skills and Background

  • Familiarity with cGMP manufacturing operations, including production controls and documentation practices
  • Fluency with automated cell processing systems
