Role Description The Shop Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Vancouver, BC. This position oversees all aspects of store operations, including team leadership, sales performance, visual merchandising, inventory management, and customer experience. The Shop Director is responsible for coaching and developing team members, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering an inclusive, service-driven environment aligned with KIT + ACE values. Day-to-day activities include managing schedules, monitoring KPIs, ensuring brand standards on the sales floor, handling escalated customer concerns, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store. The role also collaborates with head office on local initiatives, reporting, and execution of merchandising and marketing strategies to drive store growth and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong retail leadership skills, including team management, coaching, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.
  • Candidates should possess sales and customer experience skills, such as clienteling, relationship building, problem-solving, and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment.
  • Candidates should possess operational skills, including inventory control, cash management, scheduling, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Candidates should possess visual merchandising and brand presentation skills, with attention to detail in store layout, displays, and product storytelling.
  • Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in retail management or a similar leadership role is strongly preferred; experience in fashion or apparel is an asset.
  • Ability to work on-site full time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, and to stand and move on the sales floor for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and basic proficiency with office software; familiarity with sales reporting and KPI tracking is beneficial.
