Skills and Competencies
- 8+ years of credit/risk assessment experience covering a range of financial institutions, with a proven track record in fund finance, asset management, or structured finance
- Deep understanding of asset management and fund finance sectors, including key players, and industry drivers
- Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated public speaking and writing experience
- Strong quantitative aptitude and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can improve processes and drive efficiency
Education
- Graduate / second-level degree (e.g. MBA, Master's) required or equivalent strong academic background
Responsibilities
Responsible for the end‑to‑end credit analysis and monitoring of a portfolio of credits with a focus on fund finance but could also include financial institutions. Deliver authoritative rating opinions, high‑impact research, and senior‑level engagement with issuers and investors. The role also contributes to methodology development and technology initiatives, while coaching and mentoring junior analysts. Candidates should have a minimum of eight years of credit or risk assessment experience, deep sector expertise, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Analytics/Monitoring
• Conduct initial and on-going analysis on a portfolio of credits with a focus on fund finance and potentially financial institutions.
• Lead the analysis for assigning new and surveillance ratings to fund finance transactions (i.e. rated note feeders, subscription credit facilities, net asset value loans and asset-backed lending facilities)
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fund sponsors, lenders and arrangers to support analytical excellence and market insight
• Contribute to methodology and technology development projects to enhance our analytical capabilities and efficiency
• Mentor and coach junior rating analysts, supporting their professional growth and credit skills development
Research and Outreach
• Represent Moody’s Ratings as a thought leader by presenting at industry conferences, webinars and podcasts, and authoring sector research reports
• Collaborate with teams across Moody’s Ratings to drive excellence in our credit analysis
• Produce timely and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector related issues that is in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused.
Issuer/Investor Relations
• Manage complex and challenging issuer relationships while maintaining senior‑level engagement with issuers and investors, supported by industry and thematic research.
• Lead and coordinate external outreach, including investor briefings, teleconferences, conference participation, and third‑party presentations.
• Lead issuer meetings, clearly articulating key rating drivers and posing incisive questions that foster substantive discussion of core credit issues.
Communications
• Present credits effectively and comprehensively in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.
• Coach and develop Junior analysts and support associates.

The team is focused on enhancing market transparency, supporting informed investor decision‑making, and strengthening our position as a trusted source of credit insight.
