Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote environment
- Solid academic record and strong general technical proficiency
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with TypeScript, C#, and/or AWS services
- Familiarity with SQL or MongoDB
- Interest in cloud development, system design, or API design
- Knowledge of/interest in software engineering best practices and version control (Git)
Education
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Graduation date between June 2027 – June 2028
- Must be available to work full-time June 1st – August 7th, 2026
- This role is fully remote within the United States
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and services using TypeScript, C#, and AWS cloud technologies
- Help build and enhance APIs, microservices, and automation pipelines
- Work with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Step Functions, and others
- Assist with improving code quality, documentation, testing, and developer workflows
- Support debugging, monitoring, and optimizing existing applications
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Work with relational and non-relational databases including SQL and MongoDB
- Participate in code reviews and follow modern software engineering practices
- Contribute to real-world projects that will be used in production
About the Program
The Predictive Analytics group (Economics as a Service) builds the platforms, tools, and applications that power our world-class economic research and analytics. Our clients span banking, insurance, commercial real estate, energy, and more, leveraging our technology to evaluate risk, uncover opportunities, and make confident data-driven decisions.
Our IT team is made up of full-stack software engineers, cloud developers, and problem-solvers who are passionate about designing scalable systems, improving engineering workflows, and building high-quality tools that support analysts, data scientists, and our clients.
This internship role is part of the IT Software Development team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining internal services, applications, and automation that support the Predictive Analytics platform. The intern will work closely with senior developers to learn modern engineering practices, contribute code to real production systems, and gain hands-on experience with cloud-native development.
Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands-on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June–August and positions are available for undergraduate and select graduate students. Internships are full-time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills.
Interns work on impactful projects aligned with their team’s goals, gaining real-world experience while contributing meaningful solutions. As a Moody’s intern, you will learn how to take initiative, turn inputs into actions, and be an integral part of the team.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring hourly rate for this position is $35, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location.
