Title: Asst Dir-DevOps Engineer
Location: 400 Howard Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105
Duties: Leverage knowledge of scripting, automation, continuous integration, and deployment to migrate applications from on-prem to cloud, improve development cycles, and ensure scalability and reliability. Perform automation and processes required to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor internal, product and cloud-based applications. Coordinate with Development/Quality Assurance teams to facilitate experimentation along with functional and load-testing of applications. Perform creation and management of CI/CD processes related to product development and testing. Manage and support infrastructure and development applications, including architectural design, source code management, and hosted applications. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure successful delivery and implementation of assigned tasks. Identify and remediate cloud security issues. Design and implement security controls for infrastructure, applications, and data. Identify cloud cost saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation. Implement multi-region active-active pattern for moodys.com. Ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms across different geographic locations. Troubleshoot issues across cloud and on-prem stack (hardware, network, firewall, applications, database, and storage) and assist engineers, developers, and operations teams to resolve advanced system issues.
Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or a related technical field plus one (1) year of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Developer, or related position designing, building, and configuring applications. Must have experience with the following: working with Continuous Integration Applications, scripting languages (Python and Powershell) and Databases; applying knowledge of cloud and network security best practices; building AWS infrastructure, including VPC, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, EBS and Code Build; creating build/deploy jobs on Jenkins in standalone and Master/Node configuration; monitoring and responding to alerts and incidents; scripting and automating using Python, bash/Shell script and Powershell; automating Infrastructure Provisioning using CloudFormation and Terraform; containerizing microservices using Docker and developing Docker files; deploying microservices to Kubernetes/EKS using Jenkins; deploying and managing production environments in Amazon AWS; performing Application load balancing using Amazon Load balancers; building CI/CD Pipeline to deploy applications using Jenkins and Docker; and working with source control management (Git).
