Skills and Competencies
- Extensive experience in operational risk management within a financial institution, including execution of Risk and Control Self Assessments, evaluation of control effectiveness, and operating as a strong first line of defense risk leader
- Deep understanding of operational risk frameworks, controls design and testing, and effective partnership with compliance, internal audit, and second line risk functions in technology-enabled environments
- Hands-on experience with artificial intelligence–powered applications across the full lifecycle, including intake, requirements, testing and validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring
- Expertise in artificial intelligence model and solution governance, including validation, transparency, explainability, monitoring, and responsible artificial intelligence risk management such as privacy, security, and bias considerations
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technology and artificial intelligence risks into clear business impacts for senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively across global, cross-functional teams
- Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutions to drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency. Strong experience using AI tools to lead innovation initiatives. Demonstrated leadership in managing AI-related risks, ensuring ethical governance, and fostering a culture of responsible AI adoption across the organization.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field such as finance, risk management, business, technology, or a related discipline
Responsibilities
Drive and oversee the implementation of the Ratings and Research risk management strategy and framework, with a strong focus on operational, technology, and artificial intelligence–related risks.
- Lead Risk and Control Self Assessments across Ratings and Research in line with enterprise standards, including coverage of technology and artificial intelligence use cases
- Identify, assess, and report key risk themes and trends to senior leadership and relevant risk management committees
- Establish and maintain issues and events management processes, including escalation, remediation tracking, and reporting on control weaknesses
- Develop, monitor, and report Key Risk Indicators for critical business risks, including artificial intelligence adoption and model risk metrics
- Partner with technology and risk teams to enhance data capture, automation, and reporting for business and artificial intelligence governance
- Promote risk awareness and front-line accountability by embedding risk-by-design principles into business processes, technology delivery, and artificial intelligence deployments
- Act as a key liaison with compliance, regulatory, and internal audit partners to support examinations, audits, and timely remediation of findings
About the Team
The Ratings and Research Risk team is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the enterprise risk management strategy across the Ratings organization. The team partners closely with business, technology, and control functions to enhance and modernize risk practices, strengthen governance, and support the responsible use of data and artificial intelligence in delivering high-quality ratings and research.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $163,300.00 - $236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
