Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated PLC & Robot Automation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and programming automated systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and robotic systems used in manufacturing and production environments. The technician will work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting:
  • Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs used in automated systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to PLC systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLC hardware and software.
  • Conduct system tests and ensure systems operate correctly.
  • Analyze automation processes and recommend improvements for efficiency.
  • Work with engineers and production teams to optimize automation systems.
  • Robot System Programming and Maintenance:
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot robotic systems, including FANUC robots
  • Perform routine maintenance on robotic systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Troubleshoot robot sensors, actuators, and control circuits.
  • Modify robot programs and paths for improved efficiency and quality.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of PLC and robot program modifications, system diagnostics, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, EHS regulations, & internal policies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification in Automation, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or 10 years of experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with PLCs and robotic systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with PLC programming software (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
  • Familiarity with FANUC robotics programming and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including wiring, sensors, actuators, and controllers.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing automation and robotic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Strong communication & teamwork skills. Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment, including standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

JD Compensation Range:

$95,000 to $115,000
