Summary

Blue River Technology is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop embedded software and systems for our computer vision-enabled agricultural products, including the Bay Area’s highest-density compute platform for robotics. Job Responsibilities

A combination, not necessarily all-inclusive, of the following:

  • Perform development, enhancement, and debugging of new and existing software applications, kernels, and device drivers for impactful robotics computing in C/C++ and Rust within a Linux environment.
  • Enhance camera and sensor capabilities, image quality, and exposure configuration; ensure training data collection operations are supported.
  • Ensure OS (Yocto) support is implemented properly for sensors.
  • Design robust embedded software and systems to support product development from feasibility through to production.
  • Conduct embedded design reviews and code reviews, providing guidance to resolve difficult driver bugs, which may require extensive troubleshooting.
  • Implement design best practices and methodologies for embedded systems, ensuring high performance and reliability, with a strong emphasis on real-time programming considerations.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience developing embedded software.
  • Familiarity with cameras/other sensors, and camera interfaces (e.g., MIPI CSI-2).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on testing.
  • Knowledge of real-time systems and performance optimization techniques.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Camera and camera interface testing to include testing performance with regard to physical conditions such as shock/vibe, EMI, temperature.
  • Expertise in Linux kernel device driver development and tuning real-time applications for low latency.
  • Experience in development on ARM platforms (NVIDIA Jetson) and Linux (Yocto, meta-tegra) embedded systems.
  • V4L2 camera driver expertise.
  • Experience with NVIDIA driver development.
  • Middleware experience, particularly with pub/sub-architectures.

The US annual base salary range for this position is $117,000 - $175,000, along with eligibility for Blue River’s bonus and benefit programs.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
