Senior Software Engineers

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer will work as part of the perception software team and with related software and hardware teams to develop new functionalities and extend existing
functionalities of material handling robotic systems. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct full-cycle development of perception functions, autonomously or under the supervision of a team leader.
- Write unit tests and test functions on real hardware as required.
- Read and understand existing code and provide code reviews for peers.
- Make reasonable estimates of task execution times and adhere to them.
- Search for, read, and implement algorithms from engineering books and research papers.
- Collect, process, and annotate datasets.
- Train, fine-tune, and validate machine learning models.
- Continuously self-educate on the latest developments in perception and robotics.
Telecommuting is not available.
Travel Requirement: 10% Domestic travel per year.
Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:
The employer requires at least a master's degree in computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field, and, at least 4 years of robotic software development work experience within the automation industry. In addition, the employer requires:
1) Demonstrated ability to train and analyze machine learning models to solve real world problems and meet target KPIs in a production environment gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
2) Demonstrated ability with perception libraries including OpenCV, PCL and Open3D gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
3) Demonstrated ability writing robotic software utilizing Python and C++ gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
4) Demonstrated knowledge of system design principles and design patterns gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
5) Demonstrated ability with grasp point generation, object detection, point cloud processing, anomaly detection, or automatic sensor calibration gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
6) Demonstrated ability with data generated from machine vision sensors, including RGB and grayscale 2D cameras, 3D sensors gained through at least four (4) years of work experience.
All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
Salary: One hundred eighty-five thousand dollars per year.
