Job Summary:
Berkshire Grey’s robotic picking solutions leverage advanced technologies in vision, control logic, sensing, and AI to operate in demanding material-handling environments. The System Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer will apply a strong technical background in end-to-end system testing—without requiring software development—to validate the performance, reliability, and functionality of our robotic arm picking systems.

This role focuses on hands-on system validation, defect investigation, requirement verification, and ensuring high-quality product behavior across hardware, software, firmware, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review CONOPs, product requirements, and system specifications to ensure they are testable and clearly defined.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria and “Definition of Done.”
  • Write, review, and execute manual test cases for system and software-level behavior.
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects across hardware, software, firmware, and integrations with clear reproduction steps and detailed observations.
  • Validate and verify defect resolutions and system fixes.
  • Perform root-cause investigation at the system level using logs, sensor data, behavior patterns, and workflow analysis (no coding required).
  • Analyze testing and quality risks across projects and provide actionable feedback throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support system setup, configuration, and operation for test execution.
  • Contribute to planning discussions and test strategy development for larger system-level projects.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in system or software QA, testing software, firmware, HMI systems, or robotic platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical behaviors clearly.
  • Experience using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) and test case systems (e.g., TestRail).
  • Understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems (Ubuntu preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
  • Experience working with electromechanical or robotic hardware is strongly preferred.

We Value:

  • Detail-oriented testers who excel at system-level observation, troubleshooting, and workflow validation.
  • Engineers who provide high-quality defect reporting and thorough retesting.
  • Adaptability in changing environments where processes and goals evolve.
  • Exposure to NPI and manufacturing processes (DFM, DFMEA, DFT).
  • Comfort with hands-on system setup, cabling, test staging, and physical test execution.

Education & Certification Requirements:
BS/MS in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics/Robotics) or equivalent experience.
