Job Responsibilities :
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately enter and reconcile receipts in the ERP system; ensure all receiving data is updated in real-time.
- Confirm accuracy of vendor part numbers to the BG part number utilizing engineering product management database.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues related to shipments, inventory variances, or supplier returns.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the shipping and receiving areas.
- Store and put away inventory items and maintain inventory accuracy by maintaining bin system. Ensuring system data matches physical storage of inventory.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment based on packing slips, sales orders, or work orders.
- Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation using shipping software (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL).
- Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely outbound logistics.
- Weigh and measure packages to ensure correct postage and compliance with carrier standards.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments by cross-checking items, quantities, and packaging against shipping documentation.
- Fulfill sales orders to customers, both internal and external. Accurate processing of items on orders and completing necessary transactions to transact inventory.
- Track and record all outbound shipments in the warehouse management or ERP system.
- Communicate with customer service, sales, and Supply Chain teams regarding shipping status or issues.
- Assist with receiving and inventory control as needed. Including system driven cycle counts, able to create and enter counts plus reconcile variances, if possible, through investigation
- Kit building and work order processing. Build kits of inventory based of BG bill of materials and work orders created by Supply Chain planning group.
- Utilize company ticketing software system Jira to update and collaborate with other BG departments to meet customer needs both internally and externally.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related fields preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in shipping and receiving and/or material handling operations.
- Experience with international shipping and receiving procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
