We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the high-level product quality of our robotics products. The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products exceed customer expectations. The role will include managing design verification, reliability, manufacturing quality, and field quality. As a senior member of our quality engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the customer quality advocate on assigned program team.
  • Develop and implement quality strategies and processes that ensure high-level product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality standards and metrics, and ensure these are incorporated into product design and development activities.
  • Lead design verification activities, including the development of test plans, the execution of tests, and the analysis of results to ensure product quality.
  • Oversee field quality initiatives, including the monitoring of product performance in the field, the investigation of issues, and the development of solutions.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufactured to meet quality standards, and that manufacturing processes are optimized for quality and efficiency.
  • Develop clear, concise work instructions and documentation to support the configuration and testing of machines, ensuring ease of use and repeatability across teams.
  • Provide regular updates on quality metrics and initiatives to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and reduce costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, with a focus on high-level product quality and design verification.
  • Strong understanding of quality principles and methodologies, including statistical process control, root cause analysis, and failure mode and effects analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience leading design verification activities, including the development of test plans, the execution of tests, and the analysis of results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams to solve complex quality issues.
  • Experience with field quality initiatives, including the monitoring of product performance in the field, root cause investigation, and effective corrective action implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and senior management.

Travel:
Will travel be required? Yes, 10%

This role is primarily on-site and will require the candidate to be regularly present at both our Bedford, MA and Worcester, MA locations.
