Spring 2025 Mechatronics Engineering Co-op (January-June)
The Mechatronics Engineering Co-op will work directly as a member of our product development team, applying their skills and knowledge to implement truly novel solutions to solve customer challenges. They will work closely with the mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines to ensure a cohesive system design. Responsibilities will focus on writing software to validate robot motion, designing and testing new software interfaces, mechanical design and prototyping, and supporting systems fielded at customer sites.
This role will be onsite at the Bedford, MA office.
Skills/Responsibilities:
- Candidate must be a full-time student currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 0-2 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with Solidworks and basic principles of design
- Experience programming in Python and C++
- Experience with prototyping and using tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers, mills, etc.
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be curious, eager, open to learning, and independent
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Git or some other version control system
- Basic understanding of 3D geometry, rotations/translations, etc.
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)
- Experience in some area of robotics: Motion planning algorithms, Computer vision and perception, or Machine learning
- Electrical experience is a plus
