SymphonyAI is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager based in India to join our revenue team. This role focuses on accurately recording and reporting revenue in accordance with ASC 606 by analyzing transactional data, reviewing and approving operational transactions, recording journal entries, and preparing GL account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will analyze complex revenue arrangements and guide colleagues across teams on revenue recognition matters and design best practices to enable the company to scale efficiently. You will be the company’s primary NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) expert, responsible for reviewing NetSuite Sales Orders and executing contract modifications in NetSuite to ensure revenue accuracy. This role reports to the Director of Global Revenue Accounting and requires collaboration across global teams with a minimum of 3 hours overlap with US time zones.
Job Description
What you will do:
- Month-end close:
- Perform month-end close procedures around revenue recognition including running systematic processes, reconciling deferred revenue, and preparing manual journal entries as needed.
- Prepare high quality analyses and supporting documentation such as fluctuation analyses and balance sheet reconciliations to support results to both management and external auditors
- Sales order and contract governance: Review and approve NetSuite Sales Orders, Projects, and Revenue Arrangements for revenue accuracy, including items, pricing/discounts, SSP assignment, term dates, delivery/acceptance, revenue rules, and adherence to bookings policy
- Contract modifications: Execute and document renewals, upsells, downsells, cancellations, and term changes in NetSuite; ensure correct ARM reallocations and revenue plan updates; retain appropriate approvals and audit evidence.
- NetSuite ownership: Own ARM configurations (revenue arrangements/elements, plans, allocation and recognition rules, SSP/fair value tables, and event triggers). Create and maintain items. Partner with NetSuite admins on workflows, saved searches, CSV imports, and sandbox testing/UAT to operationalize requirements and improve data quality and enhance reporting
- Technical Accounting & Policies: Draft deal-specific technical accounting memos and policies. Evaluate and communicate impact of executed contracts and other customer-facing transactions on revenue recognition and compliance with company bookings policy.
- Evaluate accounting implications of new product introductions and new commercial models. Create items in Netsuite to operationalize the resulting requirements.

- Experience in US GAAP, particularly in revenue accounting under ASC 606, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external auditors.

About Us
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CA (India) or CPA preferred; Big 4 experience a plus.
- 4–8 years of revenue accounting experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and Software/SaaS industry.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in NetSuite
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query) and ability to build NetSuite saved searches. SQL, Alteryx, or similar analytics tools a plus
