Job Description
Role Summary
Join our journey to excellence in building scalable, high-performance data platforms that power next-generation retail AI solutions. You will work closely with engineering, data, and product teams, contributing to the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise-grade database systems.
About the role
- Analyze and clarify data and database requirements with business analysts, data engineers, and application teams
- Write, review, and optimize complex MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL queries
- Perform query tuning and SQL performance optimization
- Support development and maintenance of relational database schemas
- Assist in database design and architecture discussions when required
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, data issues, and failures
- Support ETL workflows and data pipelines
- Write and maintain supporting Python scripts for data processing or automation
- Work closely with developers to ensure efficient data access patterns
- Follow defined database best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to explain data issues and solutions
About you
Primary Skills (Must Have):
- ~ 1 year of relevant experience in database or data-focused roles
- Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server
- Strong SQL querying skills, including joins, subqueries, CTEs, and indexing
- Experience in SQL performance tuning and optimization
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with Python scripting
- Good understanding of relational database concepts
- Basic understanding of database architecture and design principles
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience writing Big Data SQL queries
- Exposure to Big Data performance optimization concepts
- Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory
- Experience with Talend integration or similar ETL tools
- Exposure to any additional programming language such as C#
