Job Summary
We are looking for an Associate – Forecaster / Data Scientist to support demand forecasting and replenishment activities for retail customers.
This is a customer-facing role focused on ongoing production support for retail customers. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in demand planning, forecasting models, machine learning, and data analysis, along with the ability to work closely with customers and internal teams to improve forecast accuracy and optimize planning performance.
The role requires strong analytical thinking, hands-on technical capability, and the ability to troubleshoot issues, monitor forecast performance, and recommend improvements to forecasting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Planning Support
- Provide daily demand forecasts to customers and ensure forecast outputs are delivered accurately and on time.
- Run and monitor the DFAI module to support forecasting and replenishment activities.
- Maintain forecasting configurations, parameters, and business rules to ensure optimal system performance.
- Analyze forecast performance and identify root causes for forecast variances.
Data Analysis & Model Support
- Review forecast accuracy metrics and support efforts to improve model performance.
- Analyze retail and supply chain data to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights.
- Work with customer stakeholders and internal teams to improve forecast quality and replenishment effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to forecasting models and business processes.
Technical Support & Automation
- Use Python and related tools to perform data analysis, automation, and model monitoring activities.
- Work with Docker, GitHub, and related development tools to support code management and deployments.
- Support issue resolution, troubleshooting, and validation of forecast outputs.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to address technical issues and implement improvements.
Customer Engagement & Reporting
- Participate in customer meetings to review forecast performance and discuss ongoing improvements.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries related to forecast accuracy and business performance.
- Maintain documentation related to forecasting logic, model assumptions, and process updates.
- Support ongoing customer production support activities and service delivery requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in demand forecasting, data science, supply chain analytics, or retail planning.
- Basic understanding of demand planning, replenishment, and forecast accuracy measurement.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Pandas, and data analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with Docker, GitHub, and model deployment or support processes.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts and forecasting algorithms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a customer-facing environment and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Polars and other modern data processing frameworks.
- Exposure to retail demand forecasting and replenishment systems.
- Experience working in managed services or production support environments.
- Knowledge of supply chain planning concepts and inventory optimization.
- French language proficiency would be an advantage.
