Introduction

We are looking for a high-impact Director of CPG Value & Insights who is equally at home in the boardroom and in the data. This is a senior client-facing leadership role embedded across our most strategic CPG accounts, a trusted advisor to CPG executive stakeholders, a hands-on problem solver who rolls up their sleeves, and a builder of high-performing consulting teams.

You will lead a team of Senior Managers while personally owning the executive insights relationship with key CPG partners. You will drive the customer-centric CPG agenda by translating loyalty data, shopper behavioral analytics, and AI-driven signals into decisions that move the needle on category management, trade strategy, Revenue Growth Management, and Joint Business Planning.

You will also be the senior commercial owner of your book of business, accountable not just for delivering great work, but for 100% renewal and the proactive identification of opportunities to expand the value SymphonyAI brings to each CPG partnership.

The ideal candidate blends executive presence with genuine analytical curiosity, is energized by what AI unlocks for CPG organizations, and thrives in fast-moving, client-embedded consulting environments where the standard is set by what you do, not just what you direct.

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Executive CPG Client Partnership

  • Serve as the day-to-day insights partner for your assigned CPG clients, proactively adding value.
  • Build and sustain deep, durable CPG client relationships that expand the scope and strategic impact of our engagement over time.
  • Represent SymphonyAI as a seamless extension of the client's team, not a vendor on the side.
  • Translate complex loyalty, behavioral, and merchandising data into clear executive narratives that drive CPG business decisions.
  • Deliver against thought leadership and User Advisory Board initiatives

Book of Business & Commercial Accountability

  • Manage book of business and be accountable to achieving a 100% renewal number on existing CPG clients, along with identifying solution opportunities to enhance CPG success.
  • Consistently communicate the commercial value of SymphonyAI outputs using client-relevant language: ROI, trade impact, category growth, competitive positioning.
  • Work closely with Sales Leadership on upsell opportunities.
  • Ensure insight delivery for team is linked to measurable business outcomes; not just delivered, but activated and realized

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Senior Managers embedded across CPG client accounts, setting a high bar for consulting quality through your own work and through the standards you hold the team to.
  • Develop team capabilities in insight delivery, executive engagement, CPG business fluency, and commercial impact
  • Give clear, direct, and actionable feedback. Identify development needs early and create individualized plans that accelerate team success.
  • Foster a team culture of ownership, proactivity, and continuous improvement - where people surface opportunities unprompted and hold themselves to the same standard they'd hold a client deliverable.

AI & Tool Advocacy

  • Actively use AI tools in your own day-to-day work for analysis, synthesis, drafting, and problem-solving and bring that hands-on familiarity into client conversations.
  • Help CPG clients understand, interpret, and trust AI-driven insights from SymphonyAI platforms. Bridge the gap between 'the AI said this' and 'here's what you should do about it.'
  • Coach client teams on SymphonyAI tools with a consultative-sales mindset: show - don't tell - why the capabilities matter for their specific business outcomes.
  • Serve as the senior team advocate for AI features and tools back to internal product and delivery teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Retail Insights groups to identify meaningful proactive opportunities for CPG clients
  • Contribute to team learning best practices, training materials, case studies, onboarding and team knowledge-sharing. Elevating the capability of the broader CPG Engagement group, not just your own team.

WHO YOU ARE

You bring the credibility of a senior CPG consultant, the instincts of a great analyst, and the commercial acumen to turn trusted relationships into growing partnerships.

Executive Presence: Equally comfortable presenting to a CPG CMO and sitting in a category data deep-dive. Listens as well as leads. Shapes rooms and outcomes through credibility, not authority.

Insights Generator: Goes beyond describing data to tell a story. Separates signal from noise, frames a clear ‘so what’ and links findings to commercial outcomes. Sets the standard for the team through your own work.

Builder Mentality: High accountability for self and team. Develops Senior Managers, gives clear and actionable feedback, and builds a team culture where people do their best work and clients notice the difference.

AI Curiosity: Actively uses AI tools in their own work and brings that enthusiasm into client conversations. Helps clients understand what AI-driven insights mean and why they should trust them, without needing to be the technical expert.

Retailer Acumen: Frames CPG recommendations through the retailer execution lens. Understands how decisions are operationally executed, how hi-lo mechanics affect trade strategy, and what it takes to move a category through the eyes of customer behavior.

Value Communicator: Consistently translates SymphonyAI outputs into CPG business value with ROI, trade impact, category implications. Client renewal is tied to insights and service as well as solution.
