Job Description

Role Summary:

The HR Operations Manager is the strategic owner and optimizer of end-to-end HR operations across the region, accountable for process excellence, data integrity, statutory compliance, and a seamless employee experience. Acting as a hands-on leader and automation advocate, this role drives standardization, scalability, and continuous improvement across all workflows while partnering closely with Global HR, IT, Finance, and regional leaders. The position requires strong independent execution aligned with global principles and close collaboration with the India HR Lead to deliver consistent, high-impact operational outcomes.

About the role:

  1. End-to-End HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for the flawless execution of the entire employee lifecycle including:
    • Hire to retire processes
    • Onboarding, transfers, promotions, role changes
    • Compensation changes, benefits administration
    • Leave, attendance, and exit management
  • Ensure all processes are delivered consistently, and in full compliance with local regulations, balancing global standardization with regional nuance.
  1. Process Excellence & Continuous Optimization (Non-Negotiable)
  • Design, document, and implement standardized, scalable HR workflows to eliminate fragmentation and drive operational unification.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying and eliminating process inefficiencies, redundancies, and risks.
  • Serve as the primary evangelist for process optimization, ensuring core governance is never compromised while enhancing the employee experience.
  1. HR Data Governance, Analytics & Insights
  • Be a subject matter expert and the absolute owner with data integrity, accuracy, and governance for all HR data in the region, ensuring it meets rigorous audit and compliance standards.
  • Develop and automate dashboards & reports on:
    • Headcount and workforce metrics
    • Attrition and retention trends
    • Hiring and onboarding metrics
    • Compliance and operational SLAs
  • Partner with IT and HRIS to optimize data architecture and provide actionable, data-driven insights to HR & business leadership.
  1. HRIS Strategy & Stewardship
  • You will be the subject-matter expert and process owner for the HRIS, ensuring it operates as the single source of truth for HR data.
  • Drive system adoption and best practices, partnering with Global HRIS, IT & Vendors on configuration, enhancement, releases, and integrations.
  1. Compliance & Risk Management (India Focus)
  • Own India statutory compliance, including but not limited to:
    • PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, PT, Shops & Establishments
    • Labour law reporting and audits
  • Ensure vendor compliance and timely statutory submissions.
  • Proactively identify compliance risks and implement preventive controls.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for all internal and external HR Operations audits.
  1. Strategic Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Collaborate as a trusted advisor with Global HR, Regional HRBPs, Finance, Payroll, and IT to translate strategic initiatives into executable operational plans.
  • Ensure seamless operational alignment between regional execution and global HR strategy.
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a hight-performing HR Operations team.
  • Drive high standards of attention to detail, accountability, and service mindset.
  • Build strong succession and cross-training within the team.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  1. Employee Experience & Service Delivery
  • Champion people-experience-first approach by designing and delivering HR services that are simple, transparent, timely, and empathetic.
  • Maintain the essential balance between streamlined, friendly service and non-negotiable process discipline and control.
  1. Industry Benchmarking & Innovation
  • Stay connected with industry HR practitioners and forums to benchmark:
    • HR Ops best practices
    • HRIS innovations
    • Compliance and governance trends
  • Introduce relevant external insights to advance the maturity and strategic impact of the HR operations function.

About you:

Core competency

  • 10+ years of progressive HR Operations experience in a global organization with significant APAC regional expertise.
  • Proven mastery in HR process design, from planning and stabilization to unification and optimization.
  • Demonstrated skill in HR analytics and dashboard automation.
  • Hands-on Workday HRIS proficiency.
  • Strong subject-matter expertise in India statutory compliance.
  • Postgraduate degree in HR (MBA, MSW, or equivalent) is preferred.
