We are now hiring a proactive, resourceful, and results-driven Retail Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Retail & CPG Sales Team. This is a hunter role focused on driving net-new enterprise business by identifying, engaging, and qualifying opportunities with leading retail and CPG organizations.
The BDR will partner closely with Account Executives, Marketing, Solution Consultants and Product teams to expand SymphonyAI’s footprint across global retail and CPG enterprises. You’ll introduce decision-makers to the CINDE Connected Retail Platform and demonstrate how SymphonyAI’s purpose-built AI solutions drive measurable value.
Job Description
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Identify, research, and engage new enterprise retail and CPG prospects across target markets in North America to develop qualified opportunities for Account Executives.
- Build a deep understanding of SymphonyAI’s solutions portfolio, including category planning, merchandising, demand forecasting, supply chain optimization, and personalized marketing.
- Execute strategic outbound campaigns through calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and events to drive qualified opportunities.
- Qualify inbound leads and develop them into actionable pipeline opportunities for Account Executives.
- Collaborate with Marketing to execute account-based campaigns and targeted outreach strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activity, pipeline and results in Salesforce CRM.
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly activity and pipeline targets.
- Stay informed on AI, retail, and CPG technology trends to engage prospects with relevant insights and thought leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth transitions and excellent customer experiences.
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
You will have prior experience in a similar role, preferably working with retail or CPG software and/or application software.
You will have 2–5 years of experience in business development, inside sales, outside sales or lead generation in preferably enterprise SaaS, AI, technology environments.
- Proven track record of hunting and generating new business within complex enterprise accounts
- Familiarity with retail and CPG industry operations, including merchandising, demand planning, category management, or supply chain, a strong plus
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers
- Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and organized, with a collaborative mindset and strong work ethic
- Experience using Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Hubspot, Demandbase, Clay.com and sales engagement tools such as Outreach, ZoomInfo
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience of demand generation
- A love of building strong client/prospect relationships, creating trust and rapport
- Skills in research and collation of relevant market information and analysis
- Excellent knowledge of inside sales processes and able to exploit them fully
- Fantastic communication skills and enjoy speaking with and listening to clients
- Strong team work ethic, a desire to support and create opportunities for your colleagues
- Proven planning and organization skills, you’re a "self-starter" who can prioritize
