Join SymphonyAI Financial Services as Scrum Master and work in our Financial Crime Prevention Product Engineering team. We develop innovative software and solutions for regulatory compliance, fraud, and financial crime detection, investigation, and reporting.
Job Description
What you’ll do:
- Guide and coach the development teams. Help the Product Owners and Developers perform at their highest level as a whole Scrum team and support the process to enable teams to successfully deliver.
- Protect the development team from external and internal distractions.
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
- Gather and process team metrics and KPI’s to support continuous improvement.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiate information.
- Work with co-located and geographically–spread Scrum teams.
- Work well with other Scrum Teams and Scrum Masters, ensure cross Scrum team alignment and synchronisation of software releases.
- Additionally, take on Leadership and Career management responsibilities (outside own Scrum teams).
- Help build a team of professionals with appropriate skills, attitudes, and motivation.
- Provide direction and mentoring, discuss career aspirations.
- Objective setting and performance appraisals.
- Ensure team members well-being.
What you’ll bring:
- Prior professional experience as a Scrum Master for technology teams
- Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master or equivalent
- Clear understanding and experience with Agile/Lean principles and development methods (e.g. Scrum / DSDM / XP / Kanban), and tooling (Jira)
- Strong command of English in professional and technical contexts
- Experience chairing and managing workshops and meetings
- Ability to brief up to Executive level stakeholders with ease
- The following would be beneficial but are not essential:
- Good understanding of Software Development lifecycle and best practices (TDD, BDD, source control, change management, requirements management, release management, environments control, automation and continuous integration processes
- Experience of end-to-end solution development in a commercial environment
What you'll do:
- Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives to ensure they are efficient and effective.
- Support SAFe Implementation: Work closely with teams to ensure adherence to SAFe principles and practices; facilitate PI (Program Increment) planning sessions.
- Remove Impediments: Identify and resolve issues that hinder the team's progress, working with other teams and stakeholders when necessary.
- Improve Team Dynamics: Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting self-organisation and accountability.
- Measure & Optimise Performance: Track and analyze team performance metrics, gather and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and implement data-driven improvements.
- Act as a Liaison: Serve as the point of contact for external communications (e.g., from customers or stakeholders), ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Support Product Owners: Assist Product Owners in managing the backlog, ensuring clarity and prioritization of tasks.
- Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance and support to team members in Agile best practices and help them understand and embody Agile values and principles.
- Work with Geographically Dispersed Teams: Coordinate and facilitate collaboration among teams located in different geographical areas.
What you'll bring:
- Certification: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a mid-level role.
- SDLC Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and associated best practices.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and other frameworks like SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus.
- Facilitation Skills: Excellent facilitation and coaching skills with the ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicts.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and solving them collaboratively.
- Leadership Qualities: Ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Technical Understanding: Solid technical understanding to effectively communicate with development teams.
- Experience with Dispersed Teams: Proven experience in working with and coordinating geographically dispersed teams.
