Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and architecture of data warehouse (DWH) solutions within the retail domain.
- Ensure data integrity between DWH and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot auto-refresh processes of DWH & BI tools, systems, and software.
- Maintain the structure of DWH tables and layout.
- Translate complex business needs into technical ETL solutions.
- Perform performance tuning, including collecting statistics, analyzing explain plans, and determining necessary table statistics.
- Resolve incidents and investigate problems to ensure maximum uptime and functionality as per agreed SLA and business needs.
- Manage version control and branching strategies (git/DevOps).
- Communicate effectively with both onshore teams and internal stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 7-10 years of experience, with 4-5 years in the retail domain.
- Understanding of Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) Databases (Yellowbrick or Teradata).
- Ability to understand and write advanced SQL queries and Unix scripts.
- Experience managing data integrity between DWH and BI.
- Proficiency in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting DWH & BI tools.
- Ability to maintain the structure of DWH tables and layout.
- Competence in translating complicated business needs into technical ETL solutions.
- Performance tuning experience, including collecting statistics and analyzing explains.
- Incident resolution and problem investigation skills to ensure SLA compliance.
- Understanding of version control and branching strategies (git/DevOps).
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
Desirable:
- Experience with Azure Data Warehouse (DW), Databricks, and Data Factory.
- Data modeling expertise.
- Proficiency in Python scripting.
- Familiarity with Talend ETL tool.
- Comprehensive understanding of overall architecture, not limited to development.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, JIRA, CRM.
- Experience working with onshore teams.
