Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager of APAC, this role entails leading the implementation of PacBio's commercial strategies in Korea. The primary objective is to meet and surpass annual sales targets within designated territories.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Korea commercial team to drive business growth.
- Achieve or exceed annual and quarterly revenue targets for Korea.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the country plan to meet objectives.
- Conduct regular business and quarterly growth plans reviews with the Korea team and Channel partners.
- Manage opportunities diligently using SFDC; develop and review the Korea district and territory business plan monthly with the APAC management team.
- Coordinate communication and engagement with APAC Management and Marketing teams to ensure an effective go-to-market strategy in Korea.
- Ensure proper training and resourcing of channel partners or local distributors; influence throughout the sales cycle.
- Develop a hybrid (i.e., Direct and Indirect) sales strategy to augment all aspects of PacBio business
- Build relationships with Channel Partners, customers, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Execute regular pipeline reporting and forecasting calls with local channel partners.
- Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and stakeholders, developing them into reference sites and develop strategies to cross the chasm and build beachheads.
- Lead overall commercial activities through direct and indirect reports.
- Guide Korea sales team members to surpass sales targets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Advocate for country requirements and mindshare to establish a foundation for long-term growth.
- Liaise closely with APAC Marketing, Support, and Sales teams to coordinate activities and implement APAC strategy and common goals successfully.
- Coordinate lead generation activities with Regional Marketing and Channel Partners to ensure a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Assist in coordinating regional events such as conferences, user group meetings, seminars, workshops, and seminar series.
- Increase brand awareness and market share in existing markets and maximize new business development opportunities through various strategies.
- Inspire and motivate team members to achieve projected sales plans.
- Present monthly and/or quarterly business reviews for performance monitoring and corrective actions.
- Foster a sense of urgency and drive accountability within the regional team to meet financial and strategic goals.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s vision, mission, and values at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or business administration.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication skills, combined with excellent writing and editing skills.
- Fluency in Korean and strong in English.
- 5 years of sales experience in working for a capital instrument and reagent company.
- 50% travel at a minimum.
Preferred Experience/Skills/Education:
- A master’s degree or higher is preferred.
- NGS and/or sequencing business experience is highly preferred.
- 10 years of industry experience preferred.
