The Engineer, Chemistry (Biosensor/Samples) will assist in product development, and stabilizing chips manufacturing process using reagents and various plasma conditions. Take aliquot of protein-DNA samples and dilute it into a proprietary buffer down to a specific concentration.
Responsibilities:
Prepare well plates containing above protein-DNA samples, sequencing reagent plates, and SMRT cells, and load them into company instrument.
Set up instrument to execute DNA sequencing assay and compile data.
Work on assembly duties from biosensor wafer through packaging. Operate plasma tool to clean surfaces of wafers and various substrates (silicon, glass, aluminum, titanium nitride).
Assist with functionalization of biosensor with organic polymer coating.
Operate contact angle goniometer tool and measure water contact angle and thickness of organic polymer coating deposited on biosensor surface.
Upload different types of experimental data, perform custom and statistical analysis, generate data plots, and summarize findings, and perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
At least a master's degree in bioengineering, materials science or a related field
At least 6 months in position offered or in scientist research role, chips
Use SEM and AFM to understand surface topography of chip design
Functionalize surface of chips with different chemicals
Use of FTIR spectroscopy, HPLC, LCMS, and NMR
Optimize cleaning protocol on chips (solvent, plasma)
Detection and analysis of biomolecules (protein and DNA) using novel semiconductor-based biosensors
Chip sample analysis by fluorescence spectroscopy
Apply DOE (Design-of-Experiment) mentality to develop and optimize a process
