Position Summary:
The Contractor - Technician I, Manufacturing will support the production of high-quality reagent kits for use in PacBio’s sequencing platforms. The role involves performing various manufacturing activities including assembly, labeling, filling, kitting, and documentation under GMP guidelines. The ideal candidate will have some industry experience, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned manufacturing tasks per production schedule, including kit assembly, tube filling, labeling, and packaging.
- Follow aseptic techniques and good documentation practices (GDP) during production.
- Support quality control (QC) testing and material release, including accurate completion of batch records.
- Participate in basic troubleshooting and inventory management.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies in materials, documentation, or product quality.
- Cross-train in other reagent production processes, such as receiving inspection.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain equipment logs and records.
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives when applicable.
- Able to work weekends, holidays, or off-shift work in response to operational needs.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a biotech or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with lab practices and safe handling of biological and chemical materials.
- Comfortable working with repetitive tasks, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field.
- Prior experience in reagent formulation, filling, or kitting.
- Exposure to regulated environments using GMP/QMS systems.
- Experience with CAMSTAR, SAP, Agile is a plus
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
This role is 100% onsite.
