Enabling Internet businesses to sell across borders
We’re tackling a key challenge for all Internet businesses today: navigating the changing landscape of tax. In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.
So much of our economy today and tomorrow exists online. The internet economy has grown 6x over the last 10 years and software development productivity is only positioned to accelerate. Companies should be able to transact with customers everywhere. Anrok is building the tools behind the scenes that make compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small.
Anrok connects with billing and payment systems to automate sales tax compliance end-to-end. We have raised over $50M from leading investors like Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.
We're seeking a Solutions Engineer to lead technical discovery and guide complex integrations for strategic customers from pre-sales through successful implementation. In this role, you'll develop deep expertise in the Anrok platform, sales tax compliance domain, and third-party billing system integrations (Stripe, NetSuite, and more). You'll master our API capabilities and understand the complete quote-to-cash workflows that power modern SaaS businesses. Working closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Product/Engineering teams, you'll be instrumental in supporting our growth and establishing the foundation for moving upmarket.
In this role, you will:
Become an expert in the various paths to integrating with Anrok between pre-built integration functionality, our APIs, and manual workflows
Play an integral role in the standardized Anrok sales process, helping achieve key milestones and exit criteria to effectively move customers through their evaluation process while working closely with Account Executives on deal strategy
Consult with customers and prospects to design and execute on the best solution for their specific business, serving as the primary technical contact from presales through implementation
Act as a trusted advisor on sales tax compliance, Anrok's platform, and API integration best practices for prospects, customers, and partners
Serve as the voice of the customer by gathering technical feedback and requirements from prospects and customers, then partnering with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap decisions and drive product improvements
Break down complex technical challenges and concepts for internal and external teams, to foster shared understanding and a clear path toward resolution
Design workflows to effectively prioritize and manage live calls, email responses, documentation of implementation paths and decisions, and other strategic projects
Help surface and implement new ideas, such as improving our technical documentation or designing new demo functionality for our third party integrations
Work closely with our Onboarding teams to provide effective and efficient technical support through implementation
What excites us:
You have 3+ years of experience as a Sales or Solutions Engineer or in an equivalent role.
You thrive in understanding complex problems, crafting inventive solutions, and mapping out a clear path forward and executing on it.
You’ve got experience working with Rest APIs, webhooks, and integrations
You’re as comfortable speaking with business executives and non-technical teams as you are with developers and technical stakeholders.
You love to learn, and are capable of building deep expertise in new industries and products quickly.
You enjoy designing and executing on new cross-functional initiatives and are comfortable leading a project where you have to gain buy-in from various leaders.
You enjoy playing a key role in the sales cycle and contributing to the bottom line.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to stay organized, are a must.
What we offer:
The equity upside of an early-stage startup with the product-market fit of a later-stage company.
Work where you want: the Anrok SF office or wherever you call home.
Medical, dental, and vision insurance covered 100%.
One Medical membership covered, flexible sick benefits and more.
Company-wide holidays over the winter break.
Annual learning and development stipend for books, online courses, and conferences, as well as a curious team to share your learnings with.
Bi-annual team offsites and optional quarterly gatherings at the SF HQ office.
All the latest gadgets you need to thrive at work.
This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco or Salt Lake City or New York City with an expectation to be in the office three days a week for in-person collaboration.
