Introducing: Scientist, Cell Biology
At Anagenex, our drug discovery platform relies on generating large data sets from high throughput screening platforms including DNA encoded Libraries (DEL), affinity selection mass spectrometry (ASMS), and biochemical assays. These screens are the driving force behind compound optimization using our proprietary machine learning algorithms. To accelerate the progress of these agents into the clinic, we are looking for an experienced cell biologist. Your role will be to serve as a key scientist, both at the bench and on project teams, where you will be responsible for delivering essential data as a project moves from its earliest stages into clinical development.

You'll Own

  • Design, optimization, and performance of cellular assays for portfolio programs.
  • Development of deep expertise in the underlying biology for targets in a range of therapeutic areas.
  • Become the key biologist on project teams, through summarizing and presenting data, providing recommendations to leadership, and sharing insights to other line functions.

You'll Assist

  • Preparation of regulatory documents, manuscripts, posters, and presentations.
  • Selection of new targets.

Skills & expertise you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field with 4-6 years industry experience, Master’s degree with 2-4 years industry experience, or a PhD with 0-2 years industry experience. Experience in cancer biology, immuno-oncology, and immunology preferred
  • Strong molecular biology background and experience with developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting a broad spectrum of cellular assays (western blots, ELISA, in cell westerns, proliferation assays, flow cytometry). Experience with automation is desirable.
  • Proficiency analyzing and making decisions from large datasets (e.g. DepMap, Human Protein Atlas, etc). Experience with high throughput sequencing (HTS) and/or analyzing whole genome (WGS, RNA-seq) highly desirable.
  • Assembling figures for presentations and drafting manuscripts; experience with grant writing and/or regulatory submissions a plus.
  • Independent and able to concurrently manage several projects.

Skills & expertise you can learn

  • Deep understanding of progressing programs from hit identification through IND enabling studies.
  • How to coordinate with and manage relationships with CROs.
  • How to effectively work as a key member of matrix teams and drive projects through matrix leadership.

Within 1 month, you’ll…

  • Build foundational knowledge of what we do at Anagenex as well as our current portfolio.
  • Develop an understanding of current assays, data analysis, and electronic notebook system.
  • Provide input on current processes in order to improve our operations.

Within 3 months, you’ll…

  • Undertake assays for current programs to support understanding of structure activity relationships and identification of lead compound series.
  • Provide project teams with data summaries and plans for ongoing work.
  • Work with CROs to ensure timely delivery of high-quality cellular data.

Within 6 months, you’ll…

  • Become solely responsible for delivering biology data and presenting to cross-functional teams within Anagenex.
  • Research and develop assays for new programs.
  • Research literature for new target selection.

Within 12 months, you’ll…

  • Take ownership of the biology package for an individual program and provide project teams with key decision making information regarding lead compounds.
  • Gain significant insight into preclinical data packages required for regulatory submissions.
  • Work cross-functionally within Anagenex to provide input on development across the portfolio.
