About Alljoined

Alljoined aims to solve the communication bottleneck between humans and technology by decoding thoughts from the brain, entirely non-invasively. We apply deep learning research to large scale EEG datasets collected on affordable hardware to decode stimuli like images, and eventually emotion, intent, train of thought and more. Targeting healthcare applications first, we will eventually create a general consumer interface for productivity, entertainment and AI applications.

We are actively growing our world-class team of researchers to build the most performant and accessible interface to greatly improve the quality of individual lives as well as the well-being of society as a whole.

Job Responsibilities

Design & Development:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of compact, low-noise, high-amplification EEG systems.

  • Architect circuits that efficiently support high impedance, high sample rates, BLE connectivity, and advanced power management—all within a small form factor.

System Integration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate custom hardware with client-facing software, ensuring robust serial and wireless communications.

  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Manage all phases of PCB design—from system definition and component selection to schematic creation, layout, prototyping, and verification—ensuring designs are manufacturable and meet stringent performance criteria.

Innovation & R&D:

  • Drive experimental research to explore new technologies for implants and chargers, rigorously testing designs in lab environments using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and other essential equipment.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement enhancements that reduce latency, extend battery life, and improve overall system reliability, safety, and performance.

Client Software Development:

  • Develop and maintain the software interface that connects with the custom hardware, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience designing PCBs for low-power, size-constrained applications, with a strong understanding of component selection, schematic development, and layout best practices.

  • Proficient in using PCB CAD tools such as Altium, Eagle, KiCad, or Allegro.

  • Experience working with sensors, power management systems, and ensuring signal/power integrity is essential.

  • Solid understanding of BLE, WiFi, Zigbee, and related communication protocols (SPI, UART, I2C, etc.). Embedded Systems: Experience with microcontroller (MCU) bring-up and familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, etc.).

  • Proficiency in C and Python for firmware and software development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Experience: 5+ years of industry experience, with a track record of shipping wearable or portable electronic devices.

  • Firmware Development: Expertise in firmware development using C/C++ for embedded systems.

  • ME CAD Proficiency: Experience with mechanical design tools such as Solidworks or AutoCAD.

  • Simulation & Testing: Familiarity with FEM/FDTD simulation tools, antenna design, and testing methodologies.

  • Analog Circuit Design: Strong background in analog circuit design and testing.

  • Regulatory Experience: Prior experience guiding hardware through FCC/FDA approval processes is highly advantageous.
