The Opportunity:

The Market Access and Reimbursement Manager will manage the contractual and financial relationships with insurers, managed care organizations and other reimbursement entities. The ideal candidate will have reimbursement expertise including interpretation of coverage, coding and payment policies with the ability to apply such knowledge at the provider level. Experience in the cardiovascular field is a plus!

Responsibilities:

  • Sets direction and leads cross-functional teams on development of health economic, value messaging, reimbursement and coverage strategies based on robust understanding of physicians, business/practice managers, payers, and their decision-making systems.
  • Develops and executes the market access business plan, working with provider offices to ensure both providers and their staff are educated on payer and reimbursement policies and procedures.
  • Provides direction on payer strategy. Manages key relationships with providers, payers, reimbursement teams and sales teams as appropriate. Support each customer group in a manner that reflects their needs and expectations of the business partnership and working with internal cross-functional teams.
  • Provides strategic direction and customer perspective on development of internal/external coding/coverage/reimbursement strategies, education, tools and support.
  • Provides strategic direction on economic buyer and commercial payer-related issues related to reimbursement, coverage, and contracting for our product portfolio.
  • Set direction for communication strategies to keep internal AliveCor management regularly informed about coding/coverage/reimbursement issues affecting the company and its customers. Provide leadership for world-wide communication.
  • Sets direction for outside vendor relationships and projects within reimbursement scope.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with assigned providers and provider accounts.
  • Provider and account interface, as well as billing and coding education within compliance.
  • Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities, as well as serve as an expert for AliveCor on business trends within key provider accounts.
  • Represent AliveCor at various industry functions such as payer and reimbursement meetings, payer policy meetings, professional organization meetings, and other meetings as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ of functional experience in reimbursement.
  • Demonstrated success and experience in reimbursement and/or health economics.
  • Understanding of key public and private payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies coding and coverage, cardiovascular policy trends, and current business challenges.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders such as payers, hospitals, physicians, trade associations, professional and medical organizations.
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal skills and presentation development skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
